- We have an exciting opportunity for an Excavator/Rockbreaker Operator OC where you will be responsible to Operate one or more types of heavy equipment used in quarry operations to excavate, move and grade earth or to scoop, lift and transport rock, sand and gravel to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, chutes, or trucks and ad-hoc.

**Job Description
- Your responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Ensure that plant is maintained according to set standards.
- Identify any unexpected problems that could require higher level technical support to plant and advise supervisor.
- Report to Load and Haul Foreman when task complete.
- Accompany Load and Haul Foreman when inspecting completed task.
- Operate Rockbreaker,plant according to task standards.
- Identify safety related problems to the Load and Haul Foreman.
- Identify actions that could prevent and improve safety and work performance.
- Promote safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
- Support operational team members when they require help.

**This role is in the Mining Operations Department at a B6 Level reporting to the Load and Haul Foreman.**

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 (Maths & Physical Science will be an added advantage)
- In possession of a Rockbreaker/Excavator Certificate

**Important: Applications without qualification, equipment operator certificates and proof of residence attached will not be considered**

**To be successful, you will have the following experience**:

- 1 years’ experience operating an Excavator/Rockbreaker
- Operating a Rockbreaker, 390D, CAT6060 equipment (advantageous)

Additional Information
- Valid South African Driver’s License
- Must be prepared to work overtime, shifts and do standby duties when required
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be in possession or able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
