Are you passionate about Afrikaans education and ready to make a difference in the lives of young learners? We are seeking a dynamic individual to cover maternity leave and join us as an **Afrikaans Tutor/Administrator **at Bright Young Minds Tuition Centre.

**Role Overview**:

- The maternity leave position offers a flexible full time start date, likely in April, with _**immediate **_**part time start tutoring responsibilities on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 AM to 9:30 AM and assessment of potential new students on Saturdays from 9:30 AM till around 2 PM.**
- The full-time hours are 40 hours per week Tuesdays till Saturdays with Saturdays being from 7:30 AM till 3:00 PM. (Usually finish by 2 PM)
- Conduct reading, comprehension, spelling, and math assessments for potential new students, providing thorough feedback to parents post-assessment.
- Assist with general administration tasks, including preparing workbooks, setting up new materials, and ensuring smooth operations.

**Personal Attributes**:

- _**First-language proficiency in Afrikaans**_ for tutoring First Additional Language Afrikaans students. (Non negotiable)
- Strong sales skills for enrolling new students during assessment meetings.
- Ability to conduct scholastic assessments professionally.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Quick-thinking problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of handling challenging situations with parents and resolving issues effectively.
- Must have your own reliable transport, as you may need to visit the local schools to conduct assessments during the week as well. Preferably someone who lives local to the Centre.

**Remuneration**:

- **Tutoring**: Payment per student tutored, averaging R1000 per full class of 6 students. You'll tutor two classes on Fridays and one on Saturday mornings.
- **Administrative Duties**: Receive R4000 per month for administrative tasks from Tuesdays to Fridays.
- **Centre Management**: Earn an additional R1000 per month for overseeing the Centre on Saturdays.
**Maternity Cover**:The full-time start date for maternity cover will coincide with the departure of the current tutor/administrator when she begins her maternity leave. While it's challenging to pinpoint the exact timing, once the cover period concludes, you'll have the option to continue tutoring your classes indefinitely. Additionally, there's potential for a permanent administrative role based on the Centre's expansion.

Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: R5 000,00 - R10 000,00 per month
