**THE OPPORTUNITY**

An opportunity have arisen in our NSPU facility for a suitable individual to join the Factory Management Team in the capacity of Electrician.

**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

To ensure all electrical maintenance activities are carried out and that all plant equipment and activities complies to occupational health & safety regulations and procedures. Also to ensure departmental goals and targets are achieved.

**MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Maintain machinery to achieve acceptable uptime for production to meet planned targets within the allocated timeframes
- Maintain occupational Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping procedures
- Responsible for upkeep of all electrical distribution boards, in accordance with OSH act and regulations

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process and production machinery and its components
- Understanding the implications and consequences of maintenance practices on achieving agreed uptime standards and product quality and customer satisfaction
- Understanding of own role in the production chain and how poor performance negatively impacts on manufacturing practices and quality standards
- Competency in mathematical and communication skills at Grade 8 Level
- Demonstrate good housekeeping practices and ability to suggest possible improvements where appropriate
- Five-year post apprenticeship trade experience within a FMCG environment.
- Good understanding of SANS 10142 requirements with regards to wiring of premises
- Good understanding of mechanical components maintenance, able to replace bearings, shafts, rollers and RDC’s on shift
- Willing to work shifts
