Procurement Buyer

**JOB FUNCTIONS (Brief Summary)**:
Obtaining quotations for non-production spend critical stock items where required
To procure material/consumables/critical engineering spares from approved vendors at the most competitive prices
Generate purchase orders from requisitions for non-production spend critical stock items for Engineering and approved Capex items
Monitor and report on requisitions in process
Follow up on approvals where required and resolve all staff and vendor queries timeously
Assist requisitioners with ERP-related issues and loading of new vendors and master data changes
Compilation of master data templates and ensuring this is sent to the master data team timeously
Optimisation of fast-moving stock items without causing stock-out
Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure timeous delivery of orders
Ensure professional relationships with all vendors
Various ad-hoc administrative duties assigned in the Procurement department
Ensure compliance with the company’s affirmative procurement strategy where possible
Maintain BBBEE compliance as per the company strategy
Attend BBBEE meetings and report outcomes to the Procurement management team
Update BBBEE certificates and ensure the certificates are filed and accessible
Maintain BBBEE database where all vendor statuses are maintained
Meet affirmative procurement spending target
Ensure all sections within the department maintain compliance with company OHSE standards and GMP standards

Must have excellent administrative skills and the ability to plan and work logically and systematically
Able to work in a team and independently as and when required
Must be able to identify and solve problems relating to delivery and quality thereof
Must understand GMP, FDA, and EU regulations
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication skills
Must have the ability to work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills and supplier relations

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
Minimum Educational Qualification Grade 12 or an Equivalent Qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) or RPL (Recognition for Prior Learning) as per SAQA recognition would also be considered
A minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience in the chemical/manufacturing / pharmaceutical industry
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain would be advantageous
SAP experience would be an added advantage
Must possess thorough knowledge and understanding (local and international) of the procurement and purchasing process within the manufacturing environment, i.e., chemical and/or pharmaceutical would be beneficial
