Print Production Manager

**Responsibilities**

Coordinates the entire printing process, from design to finished product.
- **Project Planning**: Collaborating with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and specifications. Developing comprehensive production plans, timelines, and budgets.
- **Resource Management**: Coordinating and allocating necessary resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to achieve optimal production outcomes. Monitoring resource availability and making adjustments as required.
- **Quality Assurance**: Implementing quality control measures to maintain consistency and accuracy throughout the production process. Conducting thorough inspections and tests to ensure that the final output meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- **Vendor Management**: Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, printers, and other external partners. Soliciting quotes, negotiating pricing, and selecting vendors based on their capabilities and alignment with project requirements.
- **Team Supervision**: Leading and managing a team of production staff, including operators, technicians, and support personnel. Providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
- **Workflow Optimization**: Streamlining production workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce wastage. Identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve productivity.
- **Deadline Adherence**: Monitoring project timelines closely to ensure that production schedules are met without compromising quality. Making adjustments to mitigate potential delays and communicating updates to stakeholders.
- **Problem Solving**: Addressing unforeseen challenges and issues that arise during the production process. Implementing creative solutions to overcome obstacles and maintain project momentum.
- **Technology Integration**: Staying current with advancements in printing technology and software tools. Evaluating and implementing new technologies that can enhance the production process and expand capabilities.
- **Health and Safety**: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the print production environment. Promoting a safe working environment for all staff and addressing potential hazards.
- **Budget Oversight**: Monitoring production costs and expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and recommending adjustments as necessary.
- **Client Communication**: Serving as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the production process. Providing updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining open lines of communication to build and sustain positive relationships.

**Qualifications**

Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Printing Management, Graphic Design, or Business Administration can be beneficial. Enter this role with a combination of relevant work experience and technical training. Matric Certificate needed.

Experience: Several years of experience in the printing industry, preferably in roles such as graphic design, prepress, printing operations, or project management, can be valuable. Practical knowledge of printing processes and equipment is often sought after.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in various software used in the printing industry, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), as well as knowledge of prepress and printing technologies, is important.

Management and Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills are essential for overseeing a print production team and coordinating various aspects of the printing process.

Project Management: Print Production Managers often handle multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of project management principles and tools can be advantageous.

Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the printing process and find solutions quickly is crucial.Quality Control: A strong eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout the printing process.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Understanding of cost estimation, budget management, and cost-effective production methods.

Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Business Acumen: Some understanding of the business side of printing, including market trends, customer needs, and sales processes.

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month
