**Role Purpose**

This role manages a team in the Pioneer SA Legacy Ingredient Specification Update (LiSU) Hub to deliver the LiSU goals and drive efficiency within the Hub by developing tactics coming from the LiSU Global and Sector strategy and plans. The role ensures that the Global Ingredient Standards and related Spec System is implemented in the enrichment of legacy ingredient specs. It also serves as a key point of contact for monitoring and communication of the SA LISU Hub’s performance. This role maintains an excellent cross functional communication and interaction within R&D GFGC - Process & Systems Solutions (PSS), Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), Regulatory Affairs, Food Safety (FS), Measurement Sciences, Quality Deployment (QD), Product Developers (PD), Procurement, Operations-QC**.**

**Main Accountabilities**

**75% Hub Lead Responsibilities**

**Hub coordination**:

- Ensure that administrative requirements and needs for the Hub team are coordinated with the respective resources (e.g. location needs, new hub member on boarding, facilitating system access needs)
- Support and facilitate the relevant LiSU and GIS communication delivery from sector to local teams.
- Ensure adherence of ingredient specs to ingredient Global Ingredient Standards and all the current governance standards regarding Food Safety, Quality and local regulatory requirements.
- Download/cascade key communications and updates from the BPM LiSU Lead.
- Strategy planning of the priorities across LiSU led activities together with the BPM - LiSU Lead.
- Manage, deliver and report of metrics based on established project goals.
- Drive collaboration with suppliers and LiSU team and PepsiCo functional leads where necessary.
- Manage and follow up of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress

**Management of Direct Reports**:

- Manage Spec Writers in their day to day job and needs.
- Manage and support spec writers during the specification update process.
- Coordinate training plan for new team resources on-boarding activities.
- Execute the capability building plan of the HUB members.

**System associated activities**:

- Partner with relevant functions like GIS, SDSA for System and tools associated activities to support system needs like User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of spec systems and tools and system enhancements.
- Participate as necessary on UAT for relevant systems or designate team members required to support this.

**25% Specification Writer**
- Learn, understand and uphold the PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standard and Supplier Standard, and become proficient in the PepsiCo systems/IT Applications associated to spec writing.
- Understand the PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standard and Supplier Standard and become proficient in associated IT Applications.
- Work with Functional Approvers (Regulatory, Quality, Food Safety, Product Development, Analytical and Micro), and facilitate engagement with the relevant stakeholders like GP, SQA and QC for enrichment of specifications as per Global business workflows.
- Manage Supplier relationships and serve as point of contact to gather information/data needed to build specifications; complete timely follow-ups to keep the process moving to completion
- Work with and provide guidance to supplier in completing the requirements of the specification in the following key areas:

- Ingredient Composition
- All Chemical, physical and other parameter requirement.
- Claims/Compliance related with QA/FS
- Food safety Requirements
- Allergen
- Test method and limits for Regulatory, Food Safety and Performance parameters
- Ingredient Micro sensitive assessment.
- Other Spec General information
- Collect supplier questionnaire and manage supplier alignment on spec details
- Conduct gap analysis of legacy ingredient specifications against PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standards. Drive gap closure with/through function team members as specs are updated.
- Validate correct migration of data to the Global Ingredient Specification system, includes review of the information and supporting documents/evidence collected from the supplier.
- Work with Operation QC and Functional approver to review and align the specification changes. Communicate with vendors for acceptance on specification change as needed.

**System associated activities**:

- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of systems related to creation of specifications (e.g. Product Vision, SAP) as may be required. Report gaps, roadblocks or findings and support on finding solutions and help facilitate closure with IT SMEs.
