**Purpose of the job**:
The mandate of the Multimedia Assistant is to assist the Multimedia Producer to produce in-house audio-visual (AV) content for the Input Team to support MSF’s institutional and operational communication needs, predominantly geared toward online audiences.

**About MSF Southern Africa Communications Department**:
MSF Southern Africa’s Communication Department is mandated to raise awareness and understanding about medical humanitarian issues and the organisation’s values and work among the South African society in support of mobilising influence and resources (advocacy, fundraising and recruitment). The Department pursues this objective through awareness-raising actions, traditional news media liaison, online social media network engagement and communication projects. At the heart of all these actions lies the capacity to develop messages and content.

**The Input Team**: is a unit within the Communications Department that is responsible for the production of original content that aims to meet various departmental objectives of the Section, such as awareness, fundraising and recruitment.

**Accountabilities**:
**Interviews;**
- Assist the Multimedia Producer with filming International Mobile Staff (IMS) interviews to gather unique stories for AV content production.
- Take photo portraits of all interviewees for upload to our database. Transcribe all interviews using transcription software and upload onto the story library database to prepare for scripting of the AV content.

**Content Production;**
- Edit AV content (interviews and “evergreen/always-on”) in line with MSF AV guidelines and processes, under the management of the Multimedia Producer and the Communications Manager (Input Team).
- Implement changes and edits to AV content throughout the review and approval processes, involving the Multimedia Producer and Communications Manager (Input Team).
- Participate in brainstorming and planning for new content projects.
- Assist the Multimedia Producer with the production of AV content to fulfil Section department communications needs, namely Fundraising (retentions), Operational Support Unit and Field HR.

**Reporting;**
- Ensure that all new content requests are logged and processed for reporting purposes.
- Update Multimedia Producer weekly on activities and production schedule.

**Skills & Competencies;**
- Adobe creative suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
- Excellent written and spoken English and ability to edit and caption materials in English.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to complete projects within set of deadlines.
- MS Office 365.
- Knowledge of other languages an advantage, particularly Portuguese, other Southern African languages.

**Requirements;**
- **National Diploma o**r **Bachelors degree** in multimedia,** photography, video production, or related qualification.**:

- Proven multimedia or communications work experience and portfolio of work.
- Experience in creating AV content for various social media formats.
- Content development experience.

**Salary Benefits;**
- Basic Salary**: R17 955-79**

**Commitment;**
- Contract Length - 3 months.
