Production Manager

Experienced **PRODUCTION MANAGER/FACTORY MANAGER** required to manage the factory of a well established **PANEL VAN / MOTOR CONVERSION COMPANY **based in Westmead.

Oversee the build process within the company and to ensure that production lines run without any problems and minimum downtime. Analyse and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency.

**Duties/Functions/Responsibilities**
- Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
- Create and implement organizational/ production changes on an operative level.
- Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
- Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
- Manage and support SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) initiatives and objectives.
- Analyse/ control production costs and identify/rectify waste measures.
- Cost management of products and assist with new production costing models.
- Manage use of raw materials to meet production targets as set out in weekly forecasts.
- Analyse budgets and continuously control production costs and identify/ rectify waste measures.
- Manage all activities within the production process, including maintenance and the workforce.
- Manage all teams within your production departments and the communication between the workshop and upper management.
- Monitor reasons for absenteeism and minimize the impact on production, liaising with the HR Manager.
- Create and maintain contingency plans in the event of interruptive production.
- Implement the standard operating procedures.
- Determine training needs of staff members.
- Create and implement organizational/production changes on an operative level.
- Focus on growing business and revenue by implementing necessary changes to product/ production line to enter new markets or grow existing territories
- Ramp up production to ensure the company is operating at required capacity
- Manage customer and internal quality standards, liasing with Quality Manager.
- Responsible for ensuring cleanliness in all production areas
- Prepare the production areas for factory inspections and audits
- Liase with the Stores Manager and Procurement to ensure a smooth supply of raw materials to the production line.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- Matric
- Min 5 years Production / Factory Management experience
- Exp in the Motor Industry adv
- Computer Literacy

**Salary**: R30 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
