As we build a world with better blueberries at Fall Creek Farm & Nursery we are looking for a **Human Resource Generalist **to join the HR team, based in Paarl **South Africa**

**ORGANIZATIONAL FIT**:
The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager. This position collaborates with organisational supervisors, and employees in RSA, as well as interacts with operational staff, including nursery workers and hourly paid employees on a frequent basis
**JOB SETTING**:
Office and nursery settings. May travel regionally / internationally as needed.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Makes recommendations to the Human Resources Manager and assists with effective implementation of regional HR strategy, working on HR systems, processes, and regional policy
- Supports and institutionalizes Fall Creek's core values and culture corporate
- Help in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks and HR metrics with the core team
- Prepare the employer's internal work training material and implement to respective employees on the content.
- Ensures that programs and policies are in line with the objectives and culture of the company and guarantees
- Responsible for the implementation of talent acquisition strategies and retention plans, including long term labour supply, working arrangements, conditions of employment and primary contact person with labour contractors.
- Prepare job descriptions, carry out recruiting activities, responds to applicants, and follows fair practice with relation to all internal recruitment efforts before and after the job offer.
- Under the established guidelines, assist with drafting and implementing employment contracts and statutory requirements for new hires in a timely manner.
- Carry out an effective induction / orientation, onboarding, integration, and probation review activities of all staff, including general administration and record keeping of these practices
- Collaborates with outside labor contractors, and reconciles weekly work records, and reviews invoices within budget parameters.
- Responsible for verifying the legal responsibilities of the workforce outsourced, while maintains a good relationship with suppliers.
- Under direction, collaboration, and recommendations of the HR manager, this role will assist with the administration of benefit programs and compensation, including the regulation of working hours, biometrics systems, and align with the finance / payroll department
- Maintains confidential compensation structures that may include bonus/incentive plans. Implement programs of benefits to attract and retain staff.
- Responsible for the implementation of programs that promote and support the employee training and development. Identifies the needs of formation and training. Manage external service providers and vendor relationships as needed. Submission of WSP/ATR each year with the direction of the HR manager.
- Engage with managers, supervisors, and employees to build relationships of work and increase employee engagement and retention, recognition programs, and EAP (Employee assistance program) needs
- Help managers and supervisors in resolving labour issues related to misconduct, poor performance, recognition programs, and rewards from time to time, in order to maintain a healthy work environment
- Develops and maintains a human resources system, including generic forms, ATS, LMS, performance management systems, general HRIS information, which with managements information needs.
- Mainly responsible for HR reports, and metrics which includes the documentation and maintenance of accurate and timely data. Responsible for following all requirements of data privacy and disclosures.
- Collaborate with the finance team, and HR manager with the accurate calculation of working hours worked, leave administration, statutory registrations of social security and other labor requirements of work for the payroll of the employees at Fall Creek.
- Presents the payment amounts to the accounting department for processing a timely and accurate manner, according to pay schedule.
- Help with supplemental benefit administration and communication from time to time,
- Compiles and prepares confidential spreadsheets, management reports, research, and other complex documents. Research and collect data, case law, amendments to legislation, compile information, and help with the preparation of reports on related topics
- Carry out a variety of administrative support functions qualified for complexity moderate in support of human resources.
- Maintains a safe, and confidential filing system.
- Help with budget functions and expense management within the department
- Help with the organization of events and corporate function
