Our client in the Financial Services industry is looking for a Principal Account Manager (PAM) to join their Cape Town team.

As a PAM you will be responsible for increasing profitable sales in the B2B market, maintaining existing allocated account revenue (if any), building market intelligence to identify new business opportunities, and generating new opportunities in the market against target customers.

To develop a tangible progressed Sales pipeline (build new opportunity pipeline, manage the accuracy and reporting of your pipeline, close relevant pipeline opportunities). The role will be required to minimise churn and maximise existing and new revenues with target contribution being a key performance indicator.

Provide thought leadership to engage new clients and exceed expectations based on constructing and delivering a winning proposition and customer business cases for customers. Provide input into deal shaping and evangelising innovative business models to fast track the profitable consumption of the company's products and services.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Develop a growth strategy for their portfolio focused both achieving in month target and revenue growth.
- Constantly keep abreast of market research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Ensures delivery of annual revenue targets through delivery of full and diversified product mix.
- Lead competitive learning by market research, evaluating competitor products, programs, weaknesses, strengths, and strategies and then educating key internal stakeholders to develop competitive solutions.
- Develop and implement plans for quickly developing their sales territory.
- New Business Development and Customer Relationship Management.
- Responsible to self-generate new
- opportunities.
- Work closely with product and marketing teams to ensure market adoption of our products and promote new customer opportunities where necessary.
- Leverage relationship with product management to jointly define and drive ‘focus propositions’ to pro-actively develop incremental business opportunity.

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- 5-8 years solution sales experience in ICT/Financial Services
- Proven B2B sales track record.
- 3-5 years proven experience within the financial services industry (Essential).
- Knowledge on the payment landscape and/or payment services in South Africa and Africa (preferred).
- Industry Technology Knowledge on emerging technology (Cloud, PaaS, networking).
- Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth.
- Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives.
- Excellent customer proposal & presentation skills.
- Excellent customer relationship management.
- Critical negotiation, organisational and planning skills.
- Understanding of technical concepts and the ability to communicate it as viable appealing market offerings.
- Ability to engage at CXX level.
- Be able to translate ICT and Financial Services principles, references to customer business value

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:

- A 3-year commercial (B. Com/Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
