**Purpose of the job**:

- Working as part of a team, supporting the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks with a goal to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. In so doing Management, Directors and Shareholders can make the e right decisions and accomplish long term success and enhancing the ability for the Company to reach its target growth**Key performance indicators (KPI’s)**:

- Weekly processing of petty cash in the petty cash, cash book payments- Petty cash bank reconciliation to be concluded by the 3rd of the month for the prior month- Daily processing of payments in the cash book, including ad-hoc payments but not including monthly supplier payments which is processed by Creditors Department- Bank reconciliation to be concluded by the 3rd of the month for the prior month- Reconciliation of control accounts by the 8th of each month for the prior month- Gross profit analysis by the 9th of each month for the prior month**Key Responsibilities**:

- Petty cash processing and reconciliation- Cash book payment processing including ad-hoc payments but excluding supplier payment that are processed by Creditors- Bank reconciliations- Credit note processing of stock returns and price adjustments- Control account reconciliations- Gross profit analysis- Review month expenditures and assist with the compilation of the management accounts- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are correctly and accurately recorded- Assist with other accounting projects as assigned- Complete other ad-hoc tasks as required- Support other members of the team as required-
**Inherent Requirements**

**Skills/Traits/Competencies**:

- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Bookkeeping
- More than five years’ experience in the field of bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Financial literacy and analytical competence.
- A good understanding of credit control and debt collection.
- Excellent understanding of financial governance policies and regulations
- In-depth knowledge of general accounting theories and practices
- Excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of customer services standards and procedures
- Knowledge of effective time management, prioritizing and forward planning practices
- Excellent organizational skills with experience of planning own workload to meet deadlines
- Discipline and commitment, and able to work without supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Appreciation of the need for tact and diplomacy as appropriate
- Displays absolute honesty and maintains unquestionable ethical work standards
- Suggests improvement and innovation to the processes to improve the effectiveness of the operation**What Qualification**
