**Job Advert Summary**:
Supports GMP compliant manufacture of pharmaceutical products by ensuring maximum online time of process Utility services supplied to Manufacturing. Responsible for operation, first line maintenance and planning of preventive maintenance activities on processes and process equipment within the Utilities Services department.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- National Diploma Chemical / Electrical/ Mechanical engineering Or
- N6 in Chemical / Electrical/ Mechanical engineering
- Proficiency with English as a medium of communication
- Three years work experience in a process and/or manufacturing environment.
- GMP exposure preferred
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Able to read Piping and Instrumentation drawings
- Perform isolations as per agreed protocols
- Records keeping

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Operate Utility services**
- Operate the various Utility services, including shutdowns; start-ups and monitoring during normal running
- Identify process and related problems; report non-conformances, SHE issues, and breakdowns to HOD
- Conduct performance trend analysis of equipment

**Ensure Utility processes are Compliant**
- Conduct regular inspections and audits
- Generate Corrective and Preventive Actions
- Perform investigations and write reports on non-compliance issues

***Generate; update and maintain SOP’s and related documents**
- Perform document reviews as per QA Policy and schedule
- Create new Standard Operating Procedures as a result of CAPA actions
- Review checklists as per QA Policy and schedule

**Maintenance**
- Co-ordinate maintenance activities on Utility services
- Issue “permit to work”
- Perform isolations as per agreed protocols
- Records keeping

**Stock Control**
- Ensures routine ordering of raw materials
- Ensure sufficient raw materials on hand

***Commissioning unit operations**
- Ensures execution of validation studies (IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Ensures coordinate of commissioning activities

**Lead and support project work**
- Lead and support capacity expansion projects (CAPEX)
- Lead and support continuous process improvements
- Supervision of project contractors
- Implementation of SAP change notifications
- Lead process optimisation for improved efficiency
