**Opportunity Available Our leading client in the Retail Sector is looking to employ a Buyer (Homeware department) in Cape Town.**

- **Develop and implement a strategic purchasing plan that meets the company's homeware product needs.**

- **Identify and source new homeware products and suppliers, while maintaining positive relationships with existing suppliers.**
***:

- **Conduct market research to stay up-to-date with the latest homeware trends and styles.**
***:

- **Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to ensure maximum value for the company.**
***:

- **Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective product displays and promotions.**
***:

- **Analyze sales data to identify product performance and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.**
***

**Job Requirements**:
***
- **Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or a related field.**
***:

- **3+ years of experience in homeware purchasing or a related field.**
***:

- **Strong knowledge of homeware trends, styles, and suppliers.**
***:

- **Excellent negotiation and communication skills.**
***:

- **Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.**
***:

- **Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.**
***:

- **Numeracy skills and proficiency using IT, MS Office (particularly Excel) & in-house systems (SAP, Valogix & Qlikview);**
***:

- **Good organisation skills and the ability to multitask;**
***:

- **Ability to cope with the pressure of having to make important decisions and meet tight deadlines; and work within budget and time frame**
