**Role Purpose**
The purpose of the role is to provide sound and qualitative legal advice.
**Requirements**:
**Experience and Qualifications**
- LLB degree or equivalent, preferably an admitted Attorney or Advocate
- At least 5 years legal advisory experience in Health / medical schemes governance & administration
- Computer literacy
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Providing legal opinions and legal advice on medical scheme administration, governance, management, and regulatory compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of the Medical Schemes Act, Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) Circulars, Demarcation Regulations, Protection of Personal Information Act, Financial Intelligence Centre Act & Financial Advisory & Intermediary Services.
- Drafting & vetting of commercial contracts and agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Memorandum of Understanding, Joint Ventures, and Sale of Business.
- Drafting medical scheme administration Service Level Agreements, Managed Care Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Designated Service Provider (DSP) Agreements, etc.
- Monitoring and advising on legislative and regulatory changes.
- Liaison with CMS and handling complaints and regulatory queries.
- Litigation Management.
- Drafting informative legal updates on new legislative developments and relevant case law.
- Dealing with legal issues relating to the medical aid and insurance industry.
- Presenting & training internal and external clients on legislative developments.
