**Key Outputs**
- Design, implement and maintain an enterprise-wide (divisional) risk management strategy, policy framework and plan.
- Manage the implementation of all aspects of the risk function at a divisional / enterprise level, including implementation of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks, within the Barloworld Limited framework for risk management;
- Assist in the development and management of processes to identify and evaluate cross-functional risks.
- Manage the process for elevating risks to more senior levels when appropriate;
- Facilitate the high-level risk assessment process, which includes the facilitation of workshops across regions and territories at various levels of the organisation;
- Risk evaluation, including the monitoring and tracking of risk mitigation plans and testing the effectiveness of risk mitigation controls;
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way within Barloworld Group guidelines, for different levels of management within the operations. E.g.: To the exec/board to highlight the most significant risks, to Ops/General managers to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their business unit and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks;
- Review ancillary processes such as business continuity plans and disaster recovery plans/tests, to mitigate risks and assess effectiveness;
- Liaise with internal and external auditors relative to the risk management function and operate as part of a system of proactive and combined assurance.
- Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organisation;
- Involvement with different functional areas and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure sound risk identification and mitigation in new projects.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary cross-functional risk management forum to facilitate understanding and communication of the risk environment within the business;
- Develop and maintain a system of data analytics for purposes of trend analysis which provides requisite business intelligence to inform risk-based decision-making

**Qualification, Experience and Competencies**
- Bachelor’s Degree in auditing, commerce, accounting, finance, risk management, insurance, or related field of study and/or equivalent combination of recognised prior learning / training and experience
- Registration with the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) would be an advantage
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant risk management role
- Proven track record in the field of risk management and a self-starter
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Project management skills and the demonstrated ability to think critically and facilitate change through collaborative effort
- Computer literate (sound knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel and Power Point, and risk management systems / GRC (preferable)
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence people
- Numerical skills and ability to evaluate, quantify and assess risks based on business intelligence and data analytics
- Strong business acumen, and the ability to understand and communicate key business indicators
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Technical acumen/industry and product knowledge
- Understanding of corporate governance and King IV requirements relating to risk management
