Our client is looking for a Fuel Manager to join there team.

The Fuel Manager assumes responsibility for providing a key focus on fuel management and ensure credible information to facilitate accurate data for tactical decision-making pertaining to Fuel cost savings for the company.

The Fuel Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Sourcing Fuel Suppliers and managing pricing: Track weekly / monthly fuel price changes;
Updating Fuel pricing in FMS;
Take initiative to save costs.
- Supplier Management: Review fuel pricing with suppliers monthly;
Review fuel suppliers and pricing on a quarterly basis.
- Yard fuel pump management: Managing and controlling fuel drop-offs in the depot;
Ensure regular inspections to vehicles and fuel station;
Inspect equipment and plan repairs and maintenance in the Fuel Depot and Fuel Station with supplier.
- Allocating and reconciling fuel, for payments due to suppliers: Allocate fuel orders in a daily basis;
Approve fuel orders;
Provide fuel orders to the operations department for despatch;
Predetermine refuelling points based on: Price;
Availability of fuel;
Route.
Ensuring fuel dips and downloads are conducted on all vehicles;
Review FMS data daily: Litres;
Kilometres;
Odometer readings.
Identify and correct anomalies:

- Monitoring fuel consumption: Review fuel consumption daily;
Rectify FMS anomalies;
Alert Operations of capturing errors;
Provide fuel consumption for debriefing process;
Recover fuel shortage costs as and when required;
Monitor Drivers consumption per trip to ensure that they meet the Fuel consumption targets;
Highlight Drivers with high fuel consumption and inform operations;
Investigate fuel shortages and initiate disciplinary process if required due to Fuel Losses;
Develop action plans to deal with drivers with high fuel consumption (e.g. Bench drivers, issue Written Warnings or dismissal);
Debrief drivers with high consumptions to ensure that will change behaviors.
- FMS ManagementUpdate fuel pricing timeously

Ensure that kilometres are accurate at Trip Closing
Ensure that fuel capture and dips are correct
- ManagementLiaise with finance to resolve queries

Reconcile fuel entries not transferred to receipt
Rectify orders not filled, on a weekly basis
Daily reporting
Planning shift schedules

Standby on weekends to assist with: Respond to fuel requests
Ensure fuel orders are actioned and approved
Assist in resolving incidents / overloads / fines / load shifts etc.
Plan and implement Operations requirements if necessary

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant educational qualifications and training;
- 5 - 10 years, with relevant experience in managing the entire fuel process;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (word; excel; power point)
- English - good level of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Time availability;

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- Diploma (required)

- Relevent: 5 years (required)
