Machine Minder

**Job Advert Summary**:
**RAINBOW** is seeking a **Machine Minder** to join the **Engineering **team at the **Worcester Plant**. This position will report into the **Plant Engineer**. The purpose of this role is to maintain and operate processing line machinery to ensure optimum production and to maintain the condition of the machine(s).

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum Grade 12 or minimum N2 Engineering qualification
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in FMCG or mechanical environment, preference will be given to applicants with experience in Engineering.
- Knowledge of ISO and health, safety, and environment legislation
- Good working knowledge of machinery
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work shifts/overtime/standby as per operational requirements
- Punctuality and Attendance reliability

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Service, repairs and maintenance of all mechanical equipment such as belt repairs, guide strips, sprockets replacements and pulleys etc;
- Breakdowns on mechanical equipment on machines;
- Start up and shut down machines in a safe manner as required by Standard Operating procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspection on machinery in line with Occupational Health and safety requirements.
- Assist artisan over weekends on all maintenance;
- Conduct basic fault-finding on machinery.
- Adherence to OHS Act requirements;
- Ensure the workstation is clean, neat and tidy and in line with food safety standards.
- Complete daily and weekly checklists and records for traceability and audit purposes.
