**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To develop accurate, fully compliant and competitive tenders by ensuring timeous, accurate and comprehensive preparation and completion of tender submission documents according to the tender requirements.
- Searching for relevant tenders on various platforms.
- Attend tender inspections and assess the scope of work and risks.
- Review project drawings and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Prepare quotation requests.
- Quantity take-off from drawings to evaluate accuracy of Bill of Quantities when tendering.
- Compare and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors following successful award of tender.
- Hand off project and proposals to Operations Teams following the successful award of tender.
- Maintain records and electronic filing system for each tender.
- Continuously update the Supplier and Subcontractor database with new vendors.

**Requirements**:

- Degree / diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
- At least 5 years’ experience as an Estimator at a medium to large construction company.
- Minimum 5 years’ on-site experience in the construction industry. Preferably in the Roads and Earthworks and/or Township services industries.
- Advanced Proficiency of CCS estimating and planning modules.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word & Outlook) and Adobe.
- Sound knowledge of standard contract documentation (GCC, NEC, FIDIC, JBCC) and specifications (SANS/COLTO/COTO).
- Ability to review the tender documentation and identify any potential risk and/or gains.
- Ability to do take offs and prepare sub-contracting and buying schedules
- Implement and manage tender buying for materials and sub-contracting packages
- Able to, from time to time travel to site inspections for tenders which may include overnight stay.
- Strong working knowledge of civil, roads, structural (concrete), mechanical and electrical discipline and the capacity to understand unique project requirements
