Junior Environmental Scientist

Cape Town, South Africa RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd Full time

We are seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist for our client based in Cape Town. The appointment will be in terms of the companies Employment Equity Plan. The salary will be market related and dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Compilation of reports (basic assessments, scoping reports, environmental impact assessments, audit reports, etc.)
- Assistance with day-to day administration of projects, including public participation associated with projects.
- Planning and completing environmental audits.
- Undertaking on-site environmental monitoring, training, and guidance to contractors.
- Review of contractors Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements.
- Compiling proposal and project reports.
- General office and project related admin, where required.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Relevant degree (BSc or B-Tech) in Environmental Science or Environmental Management or related field. Postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
- Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Office Projects (advantageous).
- At least 5 years’ post qualification experience in the environmental impact assessment and monitoring field.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Own Vehicle
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel (where required)
