Our client, one of South Africa's largest banks, is currently looking for Junior and Senior Decision Scientists to join their Credit Products team as well as the Collections and Recoveries team.

**Senior Decision Scientist (Credit Products)**

**Purpose Statement**
- You will be responsible for analysing large datasets to inform credit risk decisions and drive business strategies as a Decision Scientist.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create and implement predictive models and optimization strategies that will ensure the best possible outcomes for the customers and the bank.
- You will be a part of our migration journey into AWS working alongside both data-driven peers and business stakeholders.

**Experience**
- Senior, 5-7 years’ relevant experience in statistical analysis.
- Junior, 3-5 years' relevant experience in statistical analysis.
- Experience must include the following (within the Retail Credit Risk Management Environment)
- Extracting and Aggregating Data from Large Relational Databases.
- Data Mining and Predictive Modelling.

**Qualifications (Minimum)**
- Honours Degree in Data Science or Mathematics

**Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)**
- Masters Degree in Data Science or Mathematics

**Knowledge**
- Predictive Modelling and Machine Learning.
- Project management methodologies.
- IT implementation cycle.
- Credit cycle.
- Technical understanding and knowledge (different operating systems / databases / programming languages).
- General business acumen to identify the impact technical issues may have on design and delivery of solutions.
- Best practices and tools in credit risk.
- Interpretation of user requirements and translation into business requirements specifications.
- Retail credit environment / industry.
- Confidentiality and intellectual property implications and constraints.
- Interpretation of user requirements.
- Translation of business requirements into business requirement specifications.
