The Events Manager is accountable for the rollout of strategic events, which includes various forums, conferences, workshops, business talks and exhibitions. The successful incumbent will be required to travel, work after hours and over weekends. Most events are rolled out at the Regenesys Campus located Sandton, however there may be travel within and outside of Gauteng for events from time to time. The successful incumbent, in conjunction with the Marketing Executive, shall be responsible for identifying and delivering best practices to streamline activities and increase departmental efficiency

The Events Manager is required to be a pro-active leader, responsible for various clients’ events, monitoring the day-to-day workload of the Events Team and ensuring that weekly and monthly objectives and targets are met. The role also requires that the successful incumbent take a creative and flexible approach to Events Management. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management are essential.

***Du**ti**e**s and responsibilities***
- Implement the strategic events plan
- Maintain an up-to-date event calendar
- Liaise with internal and external clients to ascertain their precise event requirements;
- Produce detailed proposals for events (e.g., timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations and budgets)
- Oversee all facilities requirements are met
- Project managing events including venue, caterers, contractors and equipment hire where applicable through the events team
- Ensure insurance, legal, health and safety regulations are adhered to
- Plan room layouts and the entertainment programme
- Manage resource requirements and briefings
- Liaise with marketing team to promote the event, including design of invitations, feedback forms and other material
- Co-ordinate sales team support where applicable
- Oversee that RSVPs for each event, pre-event and onsite communication with delegates are handled successfully by the events team
- Ensure effective record keeping of costs and attendance associated with each event
- Coordinate the events team to attend to troubleshooting to ensure that all events run smoothly
- Post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders)
- Allocate events to the events team while managing designated client groups
- Plan the weekly event meeting to ensure the Operations, Kitchen and Audio-Visual teams are briefed on each event to enable the successful delivery of events
- Monitor financial performance, identify, and maximise opportunities to assist with departmental budgets
- Lead by example and deliver exceptional internal and external customer service and key account management
- Coach, mentor and maintain positive team morale
- Actively contribute to improving systems and processes to support the ongoing success of the department
- Participate in the planning and execution of sales promotions to achieve lead and revenue generation
- Conduct site inspections and providing sales support as required
- Act as the first point of contact in the absence of the Marketing Executive
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and industry bodies, attend supplier meetings, familiarisations, and industry workshops where applicable

***Qua**lifi**ca**ti**ons***
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in events management
- Marketing qualification or in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- Driver’s license/own reliable transport
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office & Mac OS)
