**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

Responsible for commercial management activities of the mine. This includes driving profitability, understanding commercial interdependencies & activities and ensuring governance, risk & statutory compliance of contractors.

Provides direction and management of procurement activities for the organisation.

Responsible for the marketing function and activities.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**

**Financial Perspective**

**Financial and budgetary effectiveness**:
1. Provide input into annual procurement budget that represents best estimate of costs and supports the attainment of the organisation and relevant business unit’s financial objectives.

2. Allocate and monitor the utilisation of allocated funds to enable the attainment of objectives.

3. Regularly review and proactively monitor and appropriately respond to spend against budget.

4. Reviewing return on investment (ROI) of group procurement, insurance and projects.

**Internal Business Process Perspective**

**Contract implementation management**:
1. Oversight of commercial contract processes, including:

- Invitation to tender;
- Tender evaluation;
- Awarding of contracts;
- Contract implementation;
- Contract performance measurement.

2. Management of contractor relationships, addressing contract related problems, incorporating necessary changes or modifications in the contract, and actively interacting with the contractor to achieve the contract's objectives

**Procurement**:
1. Oversight of procurement processes aligned with procurement best practice and applicable governance and legal frameworks, including:

- Procure to pay;
- Purchase planning;
- Specification development;
- Supplier research and selection;
- Vendor screening;
- Price negotiation;
- Value analysis.

2. Ensures that the implementation of small business enterprise and local entity development is achieved.

4. Procure the best supplier through planning and monitoring of sub contract works/vendor development activities, scheduling, vendor grading, and finalisation of rate contracts.

**Insurance management**:
1. Development of an insurance strategy based on risk factors and appetite.

2. Develops policies for company insurance covers that are in line with best practice.

3. Management of business insurance policies and schemes, including;
- Monthly review of insurance schedules;
- Review of coverage and associated costs;
- Insurance planning aligned to the business plan and strategic objectives.

4. Compiles and submits annual policy proposals to board for approval.

5. Ensures adequate insurance coverage at cost effective rates; reducing insurable business risks.

**Governance**:
1. Develops of policy for procurement in line with best practice.

2. Vendor screening & input into vendor selection processes; commercial analysis of quotes in line with broader business governance frameworks (i.e. legal, SHE etc.).

3. Manages and coordinates review processes for new and existing supplier and customers to ensure adherence to organisational policies, procedures, standards and governance frameworks.

**People Perspective**

**People management and leadership**:
1. Recruit and develop skilled and talented staff.

2. Manage performance of direct reports ensuring agreement of annual goals, measuring performance against agreed goals and dealing with non-performance accordingly.

3. Talent management of direct reports, including career developments and paths for all staff and succession planning for key positions.

4. Ensure that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increased productivity.

5. Alignment to the organisation’s transformation objectives through departmental processes.

6. Coaching and mentoring of direct reports

7. Ensuring a healthy and safe work environment for employees.

1. Execution and coordination of sales order fulfilment for the purposes of:
- Achieving output and order requirements;
- Achieving customer satisfaction.

2. Providing feedback on activities, processes, system and functions to inform optimisation to ensure customer satisfaction and enable business growth.

**Stakeholder engagement and management**:
1. Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to promote the business and service objectives of the company.

2. Negotiate or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors or other organisational entities.

3. Builds relationships across the organisation by sharing business information and knowledge.
