**Introduction**

**Role Purpose**

To facilitate and enable strategic and financial planning at group level. Further, to enable stakeholders to make informed and effective decisions by using information provided by the Strategic Finance Team.

**Requirements**:
**Minimum qualifications**:

- Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Accounting, Financial Management or Management Accounting
- Actuarial Science degree preferred but not essential

**Minimum experience**:

- 10+ years’ senior financial planning and financial analysis experience with exposure to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

**Key skills**:

- Thorough understanding of the insurance and the financial services landscape in South Africa.
- Strong understanding of life insurance and financial services business models.
- Financial planning and analysis.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Strategic projects, new initiatives and business decision support**:

- Manage IFRS 17 implementation
- Manage IFRS 2 liability modelling
- Provide financial support regarding variable pay
- Manage / provide strategic input into new strategic initiatives and business decision support
- Co-ordinate CFO Forum administration Provide project management support with special focus on:

- Quarterly reporting process
- XBRL implementation
- ORSA project management
- SAM Group Return submissions
- SAM quarterly submissions
- KPI reviews

**Financial planning and business intelligence**:

- Oversee the development and implementation of performance reporting metrics to provide insights and actions aligned to strategic objectives of the group.
- Manage the delivery of performance reporting, forward looking forecasts, and statutory reporting to various stakeholders to enable decision making.
- In collaboration with the finance community, supply long term financial forecasts to inform strategic decision making.
- Provide input on business performance, business highlights and strategy updates to accurately reflect Momentum Metropolitan’s performance to a range of audiences.
- Oversee the provision of trends analysis of business performance across business units and insights based on these trends.
- Keep abreast of key, relevant industry trends and articulate potential impact on performance relative to competitors.
- Contribute to and implement strategy frameworks and methodologies focused on non-traditional competitor comparisons.
- Oversee research and analysis to build a comprehensive and integrated competitor information database including both financial and non-financial information to enable business and strategic decision making.
- Oversee the provision of competitive insights on business initiatives and ventures based on competitive and industry landscapes.
- Oversee the provision of input into investment decisions based on expert view of industry, competitors and financial insight to optimise capital return on investments.
- Work with MMH’s Remuneration team to model and analyse possible incentive structures to ultimately recommend such to the Remuneration Committee.
- Make annual recommendations on divisional incentive awards based on calculations of approved incentive plans.

**Strategic reporting**:

- Oversee internal quarterly reporting (Group FD report and Director’s valuations report).
- Oversee the preparation of monthly flash and operational reporting, the annual integrated report, SETC reporting, CDP reporting, trading updates and investor reporting.
- Manage results Q&A.
- Manage QBR process.

**Investor relations**:

- Ensure the group is appropriately and strategically positioned with an
