We are seeking a skilled professional to join our GM Data & Analytics team as a Data & Insights Analyst. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to transform data into actionable insights for our global markets stakeholders. Using advanced tools and platforms, you will present data clearly and develop interactive analytical solutions. Your work will be crucial in equipping our stakeholders with the information they need to make informed decisions, driving strategic and operational success within the organization. Key activities include analyzing data, designing, and developing analytics with innovative quantitative methodologies and advanced mathematical models, supporting data-driven projects, and driving the automation of reports.

This role requires extensive experience in the global or capital markets banking sector, with a deep understanding of trading processes. You will be responsible for developing and engineering fit-for-purpose data reporting and insight solutions, enabled by curated data products related to Forex, Fixed Income, Commodities, Money Markets, and other relevant asset classes. Your expertise in advanced data analytics tools and platforms, coupled with your ability to create interactive analytical solutions and automate reports, will be essential in supporting our stakeholders and contributing to the organization's success.

Role description
- Gather and analyze data from various sources, enrich and transform data into curated data products for actionable and insightful information, use best practice analytics and advanced statistical models whilst supporting projects relating to data/reporting solutions.
- Work with business requirements to identify and understand source data systems and identify resolutions to data issues.
- Design and implement effective data visualizations, contributing to dashboard insights for informed decision-making within the GM context.
- Aggregate, transform, and integrate data from various sources into AWS services for analysis, specifically focusing on cloud-native environments like AWS.
- Engage with GM and broader teams, including data management specialists, data engineers, salespersons, and traders for understanding business requirements to translate insights into data-driven strategies.
- Generate and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards with insights, scorecards, and metrics that drive change in the business which are tailored in level of detail for the appropriate stakeholders.
- Communicate insights and recommendations through presentations and write-ups to facilitate strategic and operational planning.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address business inquiries and support decision-making.
- Use data mining techniques to consolidate and analyze information from available data sources to support process optimization and automation modelling.
- Ensure data quality and reliability of analytics, providing feedback to stakeholders, data producers, data owners and stewards for improvement.
- Develop automated features for monitoring desk performance and conducting customized data analytics.
- Enhance data collection, manipulation, and visualization processes for end-to-end reporting in committees and presentations.
- Define and enforce best practices, standards, and governance frameworks for data visualization tools, particularly QuickSight.
- Collaborate closely with teams to solve problems, identify trends, and seize opportunities within the GM domain.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis on a wide range of GM-related issues, evaluating various factors to derive actionable insights.
- Create and maintain documentation for data analytics processes and workflows, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Implement robust analytics governance practices to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of data and insights produced.
- Perform thorough data quality checks, promptly resolving any discrepancies or issues with existing reports and dashboards.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of data analytics experience, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and AWS technologies, within financial services.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon Athena, Amazon SageMaker, and others, along with familiarity with AWS security and compliance standards.
- Experience with SQL, Python, PySpark, R, or other programming languages for data transformation, analysis, and automation.
