**What will you do?**
- Santam’s Operations’ division currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Underwriter (Online) who will be based within the Commercial Contact Centre. (Bellville).Work in this job family stream is concerned with managing commercial risk by providing specialist technical underwriting advice. The online is a highly technical role with strong client focus. The key focus is on underwriting new and existing business to maintain profitability while also creating a platform to aid the growth process.

Online team is responsible for taking sound underwriting decisions through mandates and taking initiative. The Online is a key source of knowledge and leverage to the business at large. Online is the gate keeper of the health of the risk.
- QualificationsA **minimum of 5 years** underwriting experience within a short-term Commercial insurance industry required.
- Grade 12
- FAIS compliant: 120 credits on NQF level 5 (Commercial Lines)
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Santam Commercial product training (SMK’s)
- Regulatory Examination (RE)
- Professional membership with IISA (Advantageous)
- Risk Identification and Assessment programme (RIA)
- A good understanding of contact centre processes and SLA’s

- Effective underwriting of complex risks (new business, renewals, ad-hoc)
- Identifying re-insurance and appropriate action

- Ownership of non-standard commercial products

- Building and maintaining relationships at various levels within the organisation including CCC, Distribution and HO underwriting
