GCI Short Term (PTY) Ltd is currently looking for a suitable Short-term Intermediary Consultant who will assist with the presales administration process, the dispensing of advice to close off the sales process, coordinate the policy implementation process as well as retain and maintain the clients though the client servicing administration process.

This position is for a suitably qualified person with:

- Matric
- RE5 Certificate
- NQF 5 Short Term Insurance - Personal and Commercial Lines.
- Class of Business personal and commercial lines
- Minimum 3 years personal and commercial lines administration experience at a brokerage or insurance company

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Wealth Managers and build relationships with the Administrators managers to drive Market Share and Volume Targets for our White Labelled Insurance products for GCI.
- Collaborate and build relationships with Approved Affiliates. Host quarterly workshops and training sessions for Affiliates.
- Ensure that GCI Value Added Services provided for through the VAPS products suit is performing and that we report on customer utilisation. Make recommendations to improve or expand the services that GCI can offer to our customer, with aim to provide services to our customers over and above intermediary services provided for.
- Keep abreast of legislation governing the sale and marketing of financial products to ensure compliance to legislation.
- Receive leads through the internal leads sales process and contact the client to establish what the client’s needs are by conducting a needs analysis.
- Data Capture Client onto the GCI system
- Obtain quotes from providers and request various comparison quotes and present comparisons to the client and advise on best options for the client needs
- Collate presales documentation pack.
- Update the system throughout the sales process.

Understand the processes, practices, and requirements of engagement for a varied amount of service providers directly or as per the binder access to the insurer’s platform in terms of their:

- Application process’s
- Policy Issuing process’s
- Claims process’s
- Withdrawal process
- Query resolution process’s
- Do short-term insurance quotations and comparisons for Insurance Agent.
- Process amendments on existing policies.
- Identify gaps in client’s insurance cover.
- Process short-term insurance claims.
- Keep track and follow up on arrear premiums.
- Plan and process monthly renewals.
- Answer and direct incoming calls from clients.
- Ensure all claims are handled in a prompt and efficient manner.
- To administer claims accurately and timeously.
- To load the payments of claims.
- To enter accurate data onto claims the system
- To maintain and administer the claims records.
- Have a sound knowledge of underwriting principles.
- Organise and store paperwork and computer-based information.
