**Job Description**:
**Legal Counse**l works closely with Chief Regional Counsel, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders on **all key initiatives** in the dedicated area of work. Gives **accurate **and** timely counsel **and** assistance** to management, internal and external stakeholders, in a variety of legal topics covered under the assigned area.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Responsible for management of highly complex tasks that fall under the assigned sector.
- Assisting the Chief Regional Counsel in organizing and managing distribution of tasks.
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts as well as being able to support the team in driving commercial processes for the African Region.
- Good understanding of general employment law concepts and legal principals to support in the drafting and finalisation of employment contracts.
- Contributes to matters falling outside the assigned area, such as projects, collaboration in mission teams and similar.
- Represents the interests of the company in negotiations with partners.
- Coordinates implementation of global strategy and global initiatives, alignment in the assigned sector, and reports accordingly to Head of Department.
- Assists in implementation of Department strategy for alignment with trends and regulation changes.
- Mentors certain members of the team where required.
- Monitors and adjusts the fulfillment of Department’s related initiatives, strategy and overall responsibility, executes the necessary steps to ensure timely implementation.
- Working independently or under minimum supervision on more complex agreements, cases, projects, and various administrative tasks where assistance to other close related departments is needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in** Law** with **5+ years’ experience** (preferably in a multinational (**inhouse firm**)
- Preferably called to the **Bar and/or admitted attorney**:

- ** Fluent in French & English** (written and verbal) - non-negotiable.
- ** Telecommunication industry** understanding is advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of internal processes and procedures.
- Communication skills and Analytical thinking - Problem solving.
- Strong work ethic dedicated and efficient in handling appointed assignments.
- Good organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment, solution oriented, showing initiative in taking assignments.
- Self-driven and eager in communicating ideas.
- Excellent in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel PDF etc.).
- Excellent on Teams and Outlook.
