- Essential Job Functions- Receiving of jobs:
- After receiving the job/tender/contract, confirm who did the quote for the client
- Confirm scope of work with the person who did the quote, and
- Complete Specification sheet from the person who did the quote.
- Find out if the drawings should be sent to an external detailer and if yes, send to external detailer if not
- Do detailing or manual import into strumis
- Give dxf Files to plasma programmer of plates.
- Create RFQ, please make sure that it includes all items required, including but not limited to grating, handrailing, bolts, nuts, washers, sockets etc.
- Give the RFQ to the Workshop Manager and Plasma programmer for stock take and Buyer to check which lengths are available.
- After receiving the RFQ from the stock take, re-nest if necessary to available lengths.
- Create Cutting list.
- Contracts requires the following to be signed off.
- Front Page
- Order
- Quote
- Customer drawings
- RFQ
- Cutting List
- Mark List
- Contracts must be signed off by the person who did the quote and the C.E.O.
- After signing off, give RFQ to Buyer and Cutting list to Strumis administrator.
- Print Workshop Drawings
- On the Board in the workshop, it indicates which Boilermaker must do which contract
- When the Boilermaker has completed his current Job.
- Collect his current Job card and File.
- Collect his drawing and file.
- Check that his Job card is completed.
- Write Date and time on his job card when finished.
- Issue new Job
- Board indicates which contract the boiler maker must do next.
- Issue new job card, with Mark item list clearly indicating which items on the mark list he must fabricate.
- Give him drawings for those items (Stamp each drawing with “Issued for Manufacturing” stamp and date.
- Write the date and time of issuing job card and his name.
- If there is a Revision on a drawing which is already in the workshop, the current drawing must be withdrawn immediately and file, and new drawing stamped and issued.
- Assist boilermakers with queries on drawings.**Inherent Requirements**
- Matric
- Qualified draughtsman
- Experience as a draughtsman
