**The Position in Perspective**:

- The position operates within a factory environment and is responsible for the full material planning as well as the production planning and control functions.
- The position further calls for the sourcing, analysis and interpretation of data as well as the implementation of actions to address areas of concern.
- The position interacts with internal employees at all levels, as well as with external suppliers and customers alike.
- The position is characterised by certain amounts of stress, having to manage customer requirements within a continuously changing environment, in conjunction with manufacturing constraints as well as managing subordinates

**Duties Will Include**:

- Maintain inventory levels (raw material, auxiliaries’ components, WIP and finished goods) at the agreed levels.
- Establish & maintain adequate buffer stock requirements at suppliers’ facilities.
- Ensure long term forecasting for raw material cycle orders are done accurately and timeously, and that weekly call-offs are initiated accurately and timeously.
- Ensure that broad (4-week plans) and detailed (daily plans for current week) production plans are compiled, distributed and updated/maintained timeously.
- Ensure that production plans continuously reflect the fulfilment of all customers requirements (large or small), resulting in the highest level of customer satisfaction to OEM customers and Aftermarket customers alike.
- Ensure that the Syspro mainframe & Crystal system is always current and accurate.
- MRP reports are always done and maintained.
- Monitoring of production and delivery performance against sales requirements.**Inherent Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements of The Incumbent**:

- Must have an appropriate Bachelors degree/Diploma or equivalent in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of 10 yrs experience in material & production planning in a manufacturing/automotive environment, with at least 3-4 years in Planning
- Computer Literate in MS Office & SysPro.
- Crystal Report Writing skills.
- Proficiency in Syspro planning and Excel spreadsheet modelling.
- A thorough understanding of material & production planning principles.
- In depth knowledge of a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive component industry.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and able to make trade-offs.
- Analytical skills.
- Good communication skills in English, verbal and in writing.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised environment.
- Excellent multi-tasking mindset and experience.
