- PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
- The Production Manager carries out his/her duties as instructed by the Operations Manager/Director.- The Production Manager shall be overseeing the Sheet Metal Cladding Production, Mechanical Works productions, including vessels and structures.- Overall company equipment maintenance regime.- ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The list of responsibilities below is not intended to be exhaustive. Other tasks or duties may be assigned from time to time that are within the capabilities of the job incumbent.- Sheet Metal production in the Head Office workshop to meet the requirements of the organization.- Co-ordination between internal and external customers.- Planning and co-ordination of Project activities to ensure financial success of the project.- Promote LEAN activities- Productivity reporting. Return monthly hours/M² on a cumulative basis.- Cost analysis R/M² to be reported monthly- Develop and Maintain product catalog in good order.- Logistics of material co-ordination and final product delivery to customer.- Other duties as required relating to industrial metals manufacturing and production and equipment, plant maintenance- Assistance with on job scoping as may be required from time to time to ensure that the correct solutions are manufactured. Including fabrication drawing and requisite standards.- Ad hoc facilities and equipment maintenance- Appointment to HSE Head Office safety committee.- HSE responsibilities as required by the Company and act.- General Production Management duties as detailed below:
- Supervise the production teams on a daily basis to ensure the optimum safe use of labour and materials is maintained, in order to meet the overall requirements of the contract.- Allocate duties to workers and ensure teams are made up of suitably qualified and experienced employees.- Liaise with Material Controller to ensure work is planned and carried out in the most efficient way. The right material for the job at the right place and right time.- Instruct and guide employees relative to the safe uses of tools, materials and equipment as necessary to prepare and carry out work packages as required.- Ensure all work requests from the client are satisfactorily completed and liaise with the Site Manager, Boiler Manager, Planner to keep up to date with information and planning requirements.- Ensure that all current health and safety standards and procedures are understood, maintained and adhered to at all times.- Provide correct information to the planner for the calculation of productivity and time management in line with management requirements.- Ensure all documentation / reports are accurately completed within the time scales laid down.- Check work for quality standards, production and legal requirements.- Calculate work, including providing estimates and pre-measures to assist the planner with resource forecasts.- Organize special material requirements.- Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping as well as conduct return to work interviews and operate within company policy and procedures.- Establish records of Daily Labour and Material utilization and report schedules- Carry out ‘safety walks’ on a regular basis- Report any incidents or accidents, including any near misses to safety officer or immediate line manager, in order that these may be investigated.- Be familiar with site regulations and ensure that they are being observed- To maintain and enforce the Synergy philosophy of Good Housekeeping- Act as the first stage of the discipline and grievance procedure, ensuring all employees are treated fairly and consistently. Production Services Manager is to report any lack of co-operation, including the inability to work in a team.- Maintain confidentiality of company information. Ensure that the company’s position is protected.- Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating procedures and Codes of Conduct.- Prepare and Manage budgets targets and actuals and reporting profit and loss. Manage GRVs and invoicing to internal and external customers- COMMUNICATIONS:
- Liaise with personnel representing the client in order to meet the requirements of the contract and maintain excellent customer care.- Communicate with external customers internal and external- Report all damage of company's materials by others and submit all necessary evidence or proof substantiating claims or highlight irregularities e.g. photographs of our materials damaged by others etc.- TEAMWORK AND RELATIONSHIPS:
