**Main purpose of the job**:

- To facilitate, develop, and maintain positive relationships between the organization and its stakeholders, including study participants, partners, government, local communities, and other relevant parties
- To link the research of the organization with the targeted community through effective communication, collaboration, and understanding between the organization and its stakeholders

**Location**:

- **Tshwane (Pretoria)**

**Key performance areas**:

- Identify and map stakeholders relevant to Climate Change and Health project objectives
- Conduct thorough analysis to understand stakeholder interests, concerns, and influence
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including community members, participants, and regulatory bodies
- Establish, plan, organize, attend, and facilitate meetings with the Community Advisory Board (CAB) and relevant stakeholders
- Analyse feedback to identify trends, concerns, and areas for improvement
- Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, focus groups, and other events to gather input and provide updates
- Monitor the ongoing activities of the CAB
- Facilitate open lines of communication and address concerns promptly
- Design mechanisms to collect feedback from stakeholders about the project’s activities and service provision
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the community health workers
- Amend study recruitment and retention SOP
- Train community health workers on recruitment and retention SOP when needed
- Organise community events
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions, feedback, and engagement activities
- Prepare regular reports on stakeholder engagement efforts and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare meeting agendas and circulate minutes timeously
- Compile reports to the Research Team, management, and donors as and when required
- Compile and circulate the Weekly Plan
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed
- Perform duties per study Delegation of Authority Logs
- Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management
- Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
- Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
- Take ownership of driving your own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy-setting workshops, etc.

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field**:

- **Fluent in English and other African languages, specifically IsiZulu/Sotho**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, community health development, research and programs implementation, or a related role**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Bachelor’s in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Experience in a research environment
- Experience in the voluntary sector
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to network with various stakeholders
- Able to work independently and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Be tactful, respectful and maintain confidentiality
- Be sensitive to diversity and open to change
- Valid driver’s license
