**Role Positioning and Objectives**
- To manage the Heidelberg Factory Utilities within the Engineering Department, main duties is centred on the supply of Utilities Services (power, steam, air, vacuum, water etc.) to the Heidelberg factory site.
- Ensuring that manufacturing is maintained at maximum achievable levels and that system are representative of the business needs.
- Reports to: Engineering Manager - South Africa
- Reporting Level: Manages others
- Geographic Scope: South Africa**What You Will Be Accountable For**
- Utilities Management - ensure 100% availability of utilities to end users with zero production loss through a robust and well managed operations and systems. Use of IWS methodology in ensuring driving a zero-loss journey.
- Equipment Maintenance - develop and operate world class maintenance function for utilities supply machinery. This encompasses maintenance performed by company staff, and the establishment and management of specific maintenance contracts (negotiation, monitoring, reporting etc).
- Energy Management - Monitor and report on the usage of energy in all forms across the factory. This consists of fuels, electricity, compressed air, suction, and steam.
- Target Setting - Set targets for the Utilities team and Utilities supply or consumption, review performance, develop and drive actions to close any gaps in performance
- Compliance - Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Global company Guidelines, (including all insurance checks) and execution of the Site safety policy. Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements. Ensure Compliance with ISO 9001 accreditation and subsequent business benefit.
- IWS Development and Compliance - Develop and implement IWS Standards and process in your area. Participate in the site IWS Journey.
- People Development - Identify, train, and develop the talent within the department with a view to achieving world class standards of operation, maintenance, and cost performance but also to develop successors for the future of the department and the business

- Delivering quantifiable improvements to the manufacturing and business process.
- Development of internal expert capability which reduces external dependency for problem resolution or projects.
- Reduction of utilities running costs - energy and maintenance costs
- Reduction in water withdrawn and CO2 emissions
- Overall improvements in key factory performance metrics.**Inherent Requirements**
**Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge**
- Minimum of B.Sc. in an Engineering field
- GMR 2.1 certification
- Minimum of 7 years working experience in Engineering and/Utilities with at least 3 years in a related management
- Understanding of general manufacturing process
- Technical knowledge of the individual equipment including Boilers, Air Compressors, Generators, HVAC system and Pumps
- Project management with multi-disciplinary knowledge across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil Engineering.

- LEAN/ TPM knowledge
- Budget setting and cost management
- Problem solving and loss elimination
- Customer and people management
- Task prioritisation
- Good communications skills, both written and oral
