**Employer Description**

A busy, trendy, Upmarket Apartment Suite Hotel located in Sandton.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

Provide excellent guest service and ensure efficient and smooth operation of the Sandton reception. This includes welcoming and registering guests, allocating rooms, handling guest queries and complaints, ensuring guest safety, and adhering to company policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving & Welcoming
- Welcome and greet the guests professionally and identify their specific reservation.
- Register/check-in guests, ensuring that the necessary details are obtained, i.e., name in full, address, whether company or private booking, special rates, allowances, VIP, charge details, nationality, identity, etc.
- Room Allocation
- Allocate rooms based on the reservations list, verifying the reservation details, room availability, guest requirements and rate to be paid for each guest.
- Cut and issue the allocated key card to guest.
- Providing information to guests about the procedures, policies and facilities of the hotel during orientation.
- Making accommodation reservations for guests who may be relocating or over-flowed.
- Query & Complaint Management
- Address all guest complaints and queries whilst maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Administration & General
- Ensure that all departments, are notified of special requests.
- Recording and maintaining log and handover books to ensure guests issues.
- Calculating the guest bills, collecting payments due and issuing tax invoices.
- Report any misconduct and irregularities to management.
- Ensuring the safety and security of all guests.
- Preparing hotel correspondence.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Answer and forward phone calls

**Qualifications**

Relevant Hospitality Training/Qualification a strong advantage.

**Skills**

Previous experience as a hotel receptionist. Basic Microsoft Office experience. Experience with Property Management Software (preferably MEWS). Excellent verbal, written and telephone etiquette skills.
