**BACKGROUND**

Youngman Roofing, a leading supplier of high-quality roofing and insulation products, is looking for a suitably experienced individual to join the Group as a Key Accounts Sales Consultant, to be based in Maitland, Cape Town. The individual will be required to process sales orders and invoices in accordance with company procedures and proper accounting practices, as well as process orders via the EDI system and handle customer queries.

**KEY RESPONSIBILTIES**

**Capturing of Sales Orders and Invoicing**
- Receive orders daily from clients, using the purchase order to capture the sales order with the correct pricing for each customer
- Calculate quotes based on specs and drawings, and send quotes to customers
- Ensure that once customer has sent a confirmation of quote, payment has been received before invoicing, by checking bank statement from Finance department
- Once payment is received, raise an invoice with the source document loaded onto the sales portal
- Once invoice has been raised, do a comparison between client’s requirements and what is stated on the invoice and double check that measurements and quantities are correct
- Send out invoices to customers by deadline
- Ensure adherence to factory deadlines for same day orders

**Customer Orders on EDI systems**

Responsible for expediting orders on various customers EDI systems, by:

- Logging onto the relevant portal to obtain the list of orders daily
- Responsible for checking all orders on the portal and ensuring they are correct, and accepting correct orders. If incorrect, notify customer and await amended order
- Once all errors are sorted out and orders are correct, print out the source document

**EDI and Sales Queries**
- Handle customer sales and EDI queries with the utmost professionalism
- Provide customers with updates on orders, investigating and reverting back to customers timeously where required
- If delays are expected, or stock shortages, inform customer timeously
- Send customer statements if required

**Customer Relationships**
- Adopt a client focussed approach to all aspects of work
- Build effective external relationships with suppliers, customers, and all external networks to directly contribute to the achievement of the goals of the business
- Maintain good working relationships with internal customers and suppliers to deliver on service level agreements, and maintain proper communication with the relevant role players on a daily basis

**Additional Responsibilities**

**- **New business development: calling potential new clients for new business
- Calling existing customer base to encourage additional sales
- Responsible for meeting agreed sales targets per month
- Relief support to internal sales-assist with walk in cash customers as well as key account customers
- Relief support in various sales departments including estimating department in the event of staff shortages

**SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Grade 12 or equivalent. Alternatively, individuals will be given Recognition for Prior Learning if they are not in possession of a Matric certificate.
