Now Hiring: Warehouse Manager based in the Airport Industria, Cape Town

Warehouse Manager is responsible for achieving and maintaining the highest possible service levels to all our customers & ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse operations through the optimum use of all resources available.The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the Operations Department ensuring that all functions are performed in accordance with key objectives and within required timeframes. The Warehouse Manager is further responsible for ensuring that the goals of all the departments are met in a timely and efficient manner. The Warehouse Manager hires new team members including Supervisors, conducts performance reviews, monitors attendance and is responsible for conflict resolution. They are responsible for budget tracking including monitoring staffing levels, overtime, and ensuring that departments remain within budget guidelines. The Warehouse Manager has decision making, policy development and implementation responsibility for policies and procedures for all functional areas

Key Role Responsibilities and Duties:

- liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
- coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
- use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
- have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- plan future capacity requirements
- organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
- motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- brief team leaders on a daily basis
- visit customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving
- maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely
- oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems.

Skills needed to fulfill the role:

- Related tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse management experience including 2 years management/supervisory experience within the FMCG industry is a MUST
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety processes and legislation and food safety experience
- Strong numerical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience/understanding of inventory management system would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy with expert Word and Excel skills (troubleshooting)
- Leadership and people management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organisational and time management skills
