**Job Summary Statement**:
Maintenance of Heavy Mining Equipment with a focus on Shovels, Excavators, Dozers and Drills. Maintain equipment to an acceptable level to ensure reliability in support of production targets.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Trade - Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic
- And/or national Diploma Degree - Mechanical Engineering (Strong Advantage)
- No criminal record
- Valid Driver’s license

***EXPERIENCE**:

- Preferably at least three to five years’ experience in the maintenance of CAT(6050/6030), Liebherr (9350/9400) and Komatsu(PC3000) large excavators and shovels.
- Must have demonstrated skills, experience & proven ability to maintain 85% fleet availability
- At least three years’ technical service experience (at Supervisory/Managerial level)
- Major rebuild of heavy earthmoving equipment

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Plant (Earthmoving Equipment) Performance (Availability, Utilization, MTTR, MTBF)
- Manage scheduling of services and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order and on time
- Co-ordinate the inspection lists and delegate daily duties to the Plant Foreman
- Co-ordinate the daily duties of the service supervisors
- Monitor equipment availabilities daily
- Follow up on breakdowns as a matter of urgency
- Maintain an 85% availability
- Minimize all fleet downtime and treat with sense of urgency
- Maintenance planning and daily execution
