**What is the role we are recruiting for?**
We’re looking for someone to join our Data Science team to handle improving and maintaining our Action AI. To understand this you will need to be familiar with optimization, expert systems and more modern AI techniques (not just Machine Learning). You will need to understand the current algorithm and be able to innovate to improve the algorithm’s performance. We are looking for someone who can extend the optimization to include time.

**What would your responsibilities be?**
- Use these models to optimise decision making
- Identify opportunities for using the latest AI/ML techniques, services and libraries to solve for customer needs.
- Experiment with new tools and technologies to produce effective solutions to user needs.
- Take the lead in design and implementation of services, ensuring the build of well-tested software that has few regressions.
- Own the design and development of entire proof-of-concept systems
- Ensure that - once productionised - our systems remain relevant and performant.
- Collaborate with wider ProQuo AI teams to deliver on objectives on time and to a consistent high quality.

**How would you contribute to ProQuo AI’s success?**
ProQuo AI uses data and models to develop products. AI is right in the name. To do this effectively, we need experienced developers who can work with all kinds of data and build useful models. Your ideas can end up driving value in our product or in our business itself. We have high buy-in from management to drive these techniques, so you have no barriers to entry but your own ability.

**What skills, strengths, experience, and attributes you need?**
- Solid grasp of optimisation techniques and planning algorithms (For example: Operations Research, industrial engineering scheduling or Model Predictive Control, Financial trading algorithms)
- Ability to work effectively in an iterative agile development process, using Jira, Git etc.
- Multi-language software development experience, with willingness to learn new technologies.
- Fluent (3+ years) in Python (with pandas, matplotlib and numpy/scipy/scikit-learn) and SQL
- Able to handle basic Bash / Shell scripting
- AWS Cloud infrastructure experience.
- Big Data experience will be useful.
- Linux experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate detailed technical concepts at a high level.
