**EHK Duties and Responsibility**:
Supervises all housekeepingemployees, must motivate HK Staff and lead by example. Has the authority to recommend the hiring casual housekeepers (via outsourced company) when the room occupancies are under pressure, plansand assigns housekeeping, provide on the job training, inspects rooms/venues/public area. Take care of the department spending, laundry control, stock control for the department.

Supervises all housekeeping employees, must be meticulous about cleanliness about rooms, bathrooms and passages. Evaluates employees in order to upgradethem when openings arise. Assigns regular duties and special duties for the housekeeping staff. Schedulesemployees and assigns extra days off according to occupancyforecast. Must have knowledge of labour law in so far as it refers to disciplinary procedures. Must obtain approval of budgets for cleaning detergents, laundry and stock control.

Approves all supply requisitions, such as those for line, amenities and chemicals. Maintains a lost-and-found register and is responsible for all lost-and-found items. Determines the rightful owner and send correspondences.

**Responsibility & Authority**:

- Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire Hotel.
- Ensure that rooms are made as per normal housekeeping standard.
- Maintain parstock of guestsupplies, cleaning supplies, linen
- Must when necessary implement pest control procedures
- Develop and implement Housekeeping systems and procedures
- Assist Purchase department in selecting suppliers for items related to Housekeeping.
- Must liaise with the gardening company to maintain the highest standards of gardening.
- Attending and resolving guest complaints.
- Organize on-the job training and evaluate its effectiveness.

**Other Routine Responsibilities**:

- Daily inspection of public areasand rooms
- Daily briefing of department staff
- Coordinatingthe preventive maintenanceschedule of rooms and a public area with the maintenance department.
- Immediately attending to guest requests.

**PREREQUISITES**:
Strong Leadership abilities and organizational skills, thinks out of the box and Able to drive change and look for operational efficiencies/synergies across the property.

**EXPERIENCE**:
Minimum 8 to 10 years hospitality experience, of which at least 2 to 3 years in a similar role (Ass EHK). Strong Operational/Technical Knowledge.

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month
