A Top Tertiary Institution is looking for an Assessments & Learning Management System Administrator_
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of a relevant learning management qualification or a Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 5 years’ experience/development in relevant field which would include at least 4 years’ work experience within a learning management system field including Moodle and Canvas
**Competencies**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with members at all levels of the institution
- Working knowledge of web design technologies, e.g. HTML
- A good understanding of online assessments and learning management systems
- A basic understanding of online instructional design
- Technical skills, including troubleshooting and resolution of issues. The skills base also include a sound knowledge of directories and systems
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook)
- A team player who can function at multiple management levels
- Exceptional organisational and administration skills with proven experience.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Setting-up the LMS, maintenance and system operational management
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to the system functionality
- Creating and managing user structures including the creation of user groups and learning cohorts
- Manage module enrolments for the academic associates, staff, lecturers, students and authorised users, etc.
- Uploading module content, assessments and activities, e.g. study material, video links, etc.
- Finding timeous solutions to errors and communicating within a maximum period of 10 minutes during assessments
- Setting of Assessment dates and times per semester on Learning Management System
- Creation of assessment question banks on Learning Management System
- Uploading of Assessments (PDF) question papers on Learning Management System
- Creation of Assessment rubrics / marking guides on Learning Management System
- Quality Assurance of assessment settings on Learning Management System
- Being readily available to assist with queries during assessments
- Creating and maintaining playbooks and other collateral documents
- Update eLearn playbooks and other collateral documents
- Communicate eLearn build processes and best practices
- Perform LMS administrative functions and conduct all required updates.
- Support operations in the LMS for all users
- Creating user logins and assigning user permissions when required
- Provides troubleshooting assistance for users regarding logging into the LMS and accessing modules and activities
