**Job Title**: Junior IT Support Technician

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the setup and configuration of PCs, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment, including remote installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and peripherals at the mining sites.
- Diagnose root cause problems, determine possible solutions, and repair accordingly. Record causes and solutions and update and finalize all completed job cards/helpdesk queries with this information once functionality has been established.
- Request approval for hardware replacement, replace when required, and test for proper functionality.
- Diagnose allocated network problems, plan and execute solutions, monitor progress, and test functionality.
- Maintain and manage assets, devices, network, hardware, and software infrastructure according to allocated job cards and in accordance with operating procedures.
- Conduct mini risk assessments in own area of work and within the span of control prior to every task performed.
- Record all defects and status of tools and equipment, have them signed off, and hand them over to the supervisor.
- Ensure relevant tools and electrical equipment are maintained, functional, and utilized according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform housekeeping duties when and where necessary.
- Follow waste management procedures when necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT-related systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the MS 365 environment.
- Collaborate with users and remote IT teams to resolve technical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and smooth operation of LAN and WAN systems.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
- Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in IT technology and propose enhancements to optimize system performance.
- Desktop/laptop support: full installation and repairs (troubleshoot and maintain).
- Network support: patching, troubleshooting, and cable runs.
- Device support: setup and support of scanners, tablets, and TVs.
- General IT support: manage tickets.
- Setup VPNs.
- Perform daily checks.
- Maintain IT documents and prepare for QMS audits.
- Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Relevant IT Diploma/Degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in Desktop Technician Level 1 / LAN/WAN Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Valid manual driver’s license.
