Assistant Packhouse Line Manager

The position will be responsible to add value to the grower and company by overseeing the packing of fruit for sale.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Responsible for the execution of pack plans in the most efficient and effective way.
- Communicate and drive production efficiencies and achievement of production targets.
- Ensure compliance of all regulations of COIDA
- Investigate, analyze, report, and resolve problems arising in the packhouse data.
- Ensure effective stock control practices are applied to minimize stockpiling and ageing of stock.
- Responsible for the execution of project plans and tracking against targets set.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
- Responsible for ensuring sound employee relations are maintained through coaching, good communication practices, progressive discipline is applied.
- Lead and manage staff to ensure production targets, through the creation of a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Will assist with the managing of the flow wrap.
- General administration

Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:

- Industrial - / Mechanical engineering degree

**Experience**:

- At least 1 years’ experience in a FMCG environment as a logistics assistant / coordinator
- Management experience within a Production - / FMCG environment.
- Knowledge and experience of fruit packing will be an advantage.
- Technical knowledge of packing lines or production lines.

Other knowledge and skills required:

- Intermediate MS Office skills with advanced excel will be advantageous.
- Previous ERP system experience will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, food safety, OHS will be advantageous.
- Leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
- Written and oral communication skills in English, with isiXhosa as a 2nd language will be advantageous.
- Problem-solving skills & the ability to cope with complexity.
- Able to handle high levels of stress in a demanding environment.
- Excellent team player
- Have own reliable transport.
- Must be able to work flexible working hours (overtime, weekends and public holidays when required)
- Physical fit to perform work.

**Salary**: R23,000.00 - R30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Villiersdorp, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- FMCG: 1 year (preferred)
- Logistics Coordination: 1 year (preferred)
