**JOB PURPOSE**:
Effective and efficient planning of a fixed fleet for both linehaul and local transport, through optimised utilisation to ensure achievement and improvement of cost, lead time and green KPI's.

**QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE**:

- Grade 12 / Matric
- Diploma in transport economics, supply chain, commerce (National Diploma advantageous)
- Computer literacy with MS Office essential, and exposure to transport planning, tracking and other operational systems advantageous
- Minimum 3 year working experience in an operational and planning environment within a warehouse environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Cost_
- Optimisation of the local transport fleet (e.g. minimisation of kilometres and increased cube utilisation)
- Optimisation of crew working hours (e.g. nightshift allowances, overtime and subsistence allowances)
- Planning and Scheduling_
- Efficient and effective route planning for local fleet (Plato)
- Clients special orders (i.e. new stores openings, store closures, stock take, returns, IBT's, revamps and on route deliveries)
- Confirm available stock volumes to create local plans daily
- Create loading schedules and determine drop order sequence
- Planning to adhere to operational limitations (e.g. Height Restriction and Limitation: 1st Drop / Last Drop)
- Lead time variability_
- Ensure store frequencies are maintained according to KPI's and monitor ageing stock
- Green_
- Utilisation of vehicles to ensure that Green KPI's are met (e.g. best optimization of routes for full utilization of vehicle)
- General Admin_
- Maintain internal, external as well as service provider relationships to ensure KPI's are met or improved
- All transport reports to be done thoroughly and timeously.
- Daily debrief sheet from transport provider to be analysed and corrective procedures put in place to minimise returns due to Pepkor Logistics
- Over and underloads to be fully investigated and root causes identified and corrective actions taken - Ops load manifests to be analysed
- Planned vs. Actual exceptions to be investigated and reported on (e.g. On route delays decision on drops / return to hub)
- Extract data from excel and DTS to input into Plato

**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- The position requires a highly disciplined self
- starter that can work independently and within a team, under pressure and meet deadlines
