THINK is looking for a Pharmacist Assistant to support the implementation of THINK Projects the in KwaZulu-Natal Districts. The Pharmacist Assistant will be based in the KwaZulu-Natal Province (Hillcrest) and report to the Principal Investigator and Pharmacist.

**Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Conduct pharmacy assessments and develop QIPs.
- Strengthen the process of Adverse drug reporting within projects.
- Assist with weekly reporting of programme activities to the Project team.
- Monitor compliance to the various protocols together with the Pharmacist.
- Assist in developing or updating of SOPs for the CTU.
- Develop tools and templates required for the CTU as needed.
- Support and assist CTU team with record keeping, statistic gathering and information.
- Responsible for IMP and other drugs within CTU.
- Manage and ensure accurate stock control measures.
- Ensure proper storage of IMP and other drugs within CTU.
- Maintain a temperature control check log.
- Ensure proper labelling, transporting and handling of IMP between trial units if needed.
- Work closely with the DOH pharmacy guidelines, policies, and reporting structures.
- Ensure compliance to clinical governance policies for CTU pharmacies.
- Establish strategic partnerships with relevant facility Pharmacist and facility managers as per various project needs.
- Liaise with the THINK Pharmacist for effective programme coordination, implementation and reporting.
- Internal relations with Project staff on the progress of pharmacy activities.
- Collaboration with donor pharmacist as required.
- Capacity building on pharmacy related training.
- Mentor and teach other staff pharmaceutical compliance and principles.

**Requirements**:

- Qualification as a pharmacist assistant.
- Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council as Qualified post basic.
- Current registration with SAPC as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the public sector.
- Knowledge of South African health and pharmaceutical services.
- Knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice and legislative compliance.
