Position Overview:
A Printer and Copier Technician, also known as a Service Technician or Field Technician, is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printers, copiers, and related office equipment. They ensure that these devices are functioning properly, provide technical support to end-users, and ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation and Setup:

- Install and configure printers, copiers, and other office equipment at customer sites.
- Set up network connectivity, drivers, and software to enable proper functionality.
- Conduct tests and ensure devices are functioning correctly.
- Maintenance and Repair:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks on printers and copiers, such as cleaning, lubrication, and component replacements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to identify the root cause of problems.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as print heads, rollers, circuit boards, or sensors.
- Upgrade firmware and software to enhance device performance and security.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Customer Support:

- Analyze and resolve customer-reported issues, ensuring mínimal downtime and disruption to their operations.
- Educate customers on device operation, maintenance best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Quality Assurance:

- Test repaired or serviced devices to verify proper functionality before returning them to customers.
- Perform quality checks to ensure print and copy output meets established standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in printer and copier systems.
- Inventory and Documentation:

- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Order replacement parts and supplies as necessary, ensuring timely availability.
- Keep detailed records of service requests, repairs performed, and customer interactions.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Minimum Matric Certificate
- Related technical certifications or qualification
- Proven experience as a Printer and Copier Technician or similar role
- **minimum 3 years**:

- Strong knowledge of printer and copier hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to printers and copiers.
- Familiarity with different printer technologies (laser, inkjet, thermal) and various manufacturers (HP, Canon, Triumph-Adler, Kyocera, Lexmark,Riso)
- Experience in using diagnostic tools, software utilities, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment, as required.
- Must have Valid driver’s license
- No Criminal Record

Ability to commute/relocate:

- East London, Eastern Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
