Fleet Manager

**Main purpose of the job**:
- To manage WHC and its Division’s fleet operations by planning, directing, managing, and coordinating vehicles
- To supervise the company’s fleet for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of vehicles in compliance with Fleet Policies, WHC business policies, and Donor Requirements
**Location**:
- **Parktown - Johannesburg**
**Background**:
- _Vehicles within Wits Health Consortium (WHC) are currently managed by separate Divisions as part of the respective operational functions within those Divisions _
- _Wits Health Consortium plans to centralize the fleet management function at its head office to optimize Fleet operations_
**Key performance areas**
- To manage the setting up of a central fleet office for Wits Health Consortium with the aim to realize cost-effectiveness and efficient fleet operations by implementing a fleet strategy and policy
- Develop staff structure and communicate the strategy by interacting with various independent Divisions and the WHC senior management
- Procure and negotiate all the typical fleet functions (such as supplier management, vehicle procurement, vehicle onboarding, driver records, and license, vehicle licensing and registration, traffic fines, vehicle disposal, maintenance service scheduling, maintenance expenditure management, accident and Incidents reporting, and repair, fuel management, telematics and SVR systems, trip sheet, and inspections management, information systems and reporting, fleet compliance and Safety (HSE)
**Required minimum education and training**:
- **A Degree in Transport Management or related discipline and knowledge of the Transport Industry**
**Required minimum work experience**:
- **Minimum of 3 years experience in a managerial position, preferably in the Transportation Industry**
**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:
- Sound knowledge of the Road Traffic Act, AARTO, and other relevant road legislation
- Strong leadership skills (including emotional intelligence), thoughtful and diplomatic
- Good interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills
- Exceptional planning, organizational and administrative, and analytical skills are required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion at all times
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent decision-making
- Ability to prioritize own workload and those of team members, take initiative (pro-active) and work to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, values, and integrity
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Overtime and traveling may be required from time to time
- Communicate effectively with snr management, all Divisions, staff, managers, stakeholders, strategic partners, and sponsors
- Ability to Work as part of the multidisciplinary team
