**MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - FMCG**

A leading FMCG manufacturer is looking for a Maintenance Technician. The position is based in Isando.

**ROLE OVERVIEW**

Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of any equipment malfunctions, in order to ensure efficient and effective achievement of the production objectives on productivity, cost, quality, safety and employee engagement. Responsible to perform maintenance tasks on all equipment’s and ensure compliance to electrical and mechanical installation regulation according to the OSH Act-act 85 of 1993.

Accountable for planned and corrective maintenance on Utilities, Cellars and packaging equipment

**KEY RESULT AREAS**
- Check equipment availability in preparation for start up
- Assist operations in setup and adjustments on equipment
- Assist on Vertical production Start-up
- Prepare and perform shift handovers end of shift
- Participate in shift kick-off meetings
- Give feedback on equipment performance
- Perform stand by duties for Services and Utilities Department (Water, effluent, Generators, Boiler and Compressor)
- To solve, report and analyse malfunctions and breakdowns under his responsibility, within the Mechanical and Electrical domain
- Resolve unplanned production stoppages effectively and as quick as possible within the Mechanical and Electrical domain.
- Review and take action to immediately optimize machine performance during production.
- Train, Coach and support operators and technicians in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting within the Mechanical, Electrical and Automation domain.
- Update Standard Operating procedures and SMED lists when required
- Reduce maintenance costs - through routine inspections, correct order quantities on spare parts and planned yearly overhauls

**REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION**:

- National Diploma (Electrical and Mechanical) or relevant three tertiary qualification.
- Mechanical Fitter/Fitter & Turner/Millwright Trade test qualification.

**REQUIRED SKILLS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the FMCG industry with experience in the maintenance of processing and packaging equipment.
- Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Filling, Labelling, Capping and packing machines from the following OEM’s - Krones, Pe Labellers, Robopac, Arol and CFT.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge in conveyor systems, pumps and gearboxes. Knowledge of variable speed drives, automation and control. Control circuits (forward-reverse, star-delta)

**Salary**: From R25,000.00 per month
