The primary purpose of this position is to provide health and wellbeing of the residents by delivering a professional nursing service in accordance with PADCA policy. The job objectives include all tasks that could be reasonably expected to ensure the smooth running of the designated areas of responsibility.

**Description**:
**Job Objectives**:

- assessing changes in residents' condition whether acute or chronic and implementing appropriate interventions in conjunction with the Nursing Services Manager;
- managing chronic conditions including dressings, catheterisations, oxygen administration, nebulisation etc;
- administration of medication and observation of side effects, dealing with incidents and accidents;
- assessing when to refer for medical assistance and;
- Implementing palliative care when appropriate;
- It also requires the supervision of staff and elements of staff development, liaison with family and service providers.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Educational Requirements**:

- A qualification as an enrolled nurse.
- Current registration with S.A Nursing Council and proof of professional indemnity insurance.
- Minimum 5 years post basic medical nursing experience.
- Professional standard of written and spoken English.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Understanding the Eden Alternative and ability to implement this.
- Code B (Unendorsed) drivers licence.
