Reporting to the Forest Engineering Specialist, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for coordination and control of operations research within the forestry business, including work study and cost benchmarking across all Forest operations in Mondi and SQF.

EDUCATION

MIN EDUCATION REQUIRED:

- Senior Certificate

TERTIARY: ESSENTIAL
- BSc Degree / B-Tech in Forestry or equivalent qualification
- MSc Forestry qualification - Advantageous

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- 5 Years in Forestry/Agriculture sector with demonstrated operations experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KPAS:

- Co-ordinate and drive operations research with a focus on modernized silviculture, harvesting and transport equipment.
- Conduct and facilitate work studies across forest operations and develop statistically sound production and operations standards.
- Facilitate interaction, knowledge transfer and development between Mondi operations, contractors and equipment suppliers.
- Drive and facilitate operations research and development with both national and international stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions for forest operations.
- Develop and maintain costing models for Mondi operations across silviculture, harvesting and transport operations to be used in benchmarking and tender exercises in conjunction with technical specialists and operations staff.
- Maintain a database of productivity and cost data for various activities and equipment and develop tools for the visualization of this information.

- Must be self motivated with a bias for action and execution.
- Possess excellent communication and presentation.
- Have the ability to work independently, remotely and across the entire operations area.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Experience in statistical analysis, presentations, project management and use of work study software.
- Have the ability to interact with operations management, contractors, technical specialists and academia at all levels.
- Valid Drivers License
