Lodge Manager

We are now in search of a Lodge Anchor and all round talented individual within lodge management. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who has an eye for detail and can pay meticulous attention to any minute changes that have the potential to disrupt the work flow within Lodge operations.

An apporoachable personality and solid deminer with acting appropriately with a high EQ is paramount in being a collegaue, professional and delight to guests alike.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:

- Guest management & Experience - coordinate daily activities and transfers for guests of all ages
- Hosting of all meals/guest events
- Manage stock (operational and bar) through regular stock takes and maintaining stock controls
- Attend Weekly HOD Meeting
- Management of staff - recruitment, induction, rosters, attendance, performance management, discipline, on the job training, team spirit, reward & recognition
- Actively support Conservation and community initiatives and programs
- Health & Safety - ensure lodge operates in safe manner at all times, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.

**Specific Job Skills**
- Excellent guest relations abilities (including Effective influencing and negotiation skills)
- Excellent knowledge of Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Front Office
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Physical fitness to ensure you are able to work extended hours
- High energy and Can do attitude
- Excellent people skills, especially motivating staff

**Commercial Skills**
- Commercial awareness - understanding the company
- Stay up-to-date on Industry and World Developments
- Evaluate and prioritize projects

**Management Ability**
- Flexibility
- Strong time-management skills
- Demonstrable leadership and management qualities
- Analysing and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate with excellent skills in Excel
- Pastel, Semper, Fidelio or similar

**Qualifications and experience required**
- Matric or Grade 12 certificate
- Hospitality / Hotel / Lodge Management related qualification would be an advantage
- 5 Years as Senior Manager in top flight lodges
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s license is essential
