We are looking for a for a _Communication Specialist_ who wants to participate in keeping people and societies safe and has good understanding for how communication can improve business. You will be based in Centurion, but your network will be global as you will_ _work closely with many parts of the company._

Your role

As a Communication Specialist you will be working with a skilled team, always striving to develop both what we do and how we do it. You will be part of the Business Enablement team at SGD - we conduct business on all continents and it will be your responsibility to make sure our business is constantly relevant to our stakeholders. This takes knowledge about target groups, what they are interested in and where they are, making sure we have content and relevant channels.
- Developing and implement effective communication plans in support of the organization’s strategy
- Draft content for internal and external communications
- Manage media inquiries and handle requests for interviews, statements etc. in partnership with key stakeholders in SE and ZA. Be the SGD lead in liaising with the contracted PR service provider
- Build relationships with senior management to identify areas where communication can improve business results
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales team, providing creative support for external communication efforts
- Work in partnership with the business to drive organizational engagement through Communications (Culture, Transformation, Environmental etc)
- Provide support to staff as needed, related to the effective use of communication platforms
- Develop innovative brand management to better engage with stakeholders
- Plan, organize and implement company events
- Participate as a member of the Crisis committee
- Prepare, submit and present communications reports

**Profile**:
We are looking for an energetic individual who has the ability to build the company brand and maintain relationships with stakeholders. You will also be responsible for managing communications within the organization, creating brand awareness programs and facilitating employee feedback via the internal communications strategy.

Required skills:

- A record of accomplishment in developing, executing, and evolving comprehensive and proactive communications plans, as well as specific programs and campaigns is preferred
- Strong organization, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated skills in writing and editing
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
- Thorough knowledge of media operations
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to work cross-functionally
- Confidence to interact with multiple levels within the organization and articulate a concise message
- High level of proficiency in the use of MS Office products

Desired skills:

- Organizational and planning abilities
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously

Qualification and experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications or relevant field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an internal or external communications role or Marketing role with a communications focus is required
